Wrong-way driver sends two to hospital

A driver went the wrong way down I-20 East at Spring Street, causing a major accident in Shreveport. The accident happened before 2:00am Thursday.

The wrong-way driver crashed into a car and an 18-wheeler, then got out of the car and ran off before officers could get to the scene.

Shreveport Police say a woman in the car with the wrong-way driver went to LSU HSC. It took rescuers 40 minutes to cut her out of the car. There was no word on her condition early Thursday morning.

The driver of the second car went to Willis Knighton-Bossier, and the driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt.
