Warrant issued for suspect in Bossier murders

Bossier City police have obtained an arrest warrant for a local man charging him with the murders of two people and the critical wounding of a third at a housing complex Monday night.

Robert Leroy McCoy, 34, is wanted on two counts of first-degree murder.

The shootings happened at Patricia Plaza on Grace Lane. A man and a woman were killed and a teenager was shot and wounded. The teen remained in critical condition this morning at LSU Hospital in Shreveport.

The names of the victims have not been released. Police have not disclosed the relationship between McCoy and his victims.

Police Chief Mike Halphen scheduled a news conference for 10:30 a.m. today. 

Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call at one of the units at the complex about 8:30 p.m. Monday. After no one answered the door, officers forced their way inside and found three people shot.

McCoy is a black male, about 5’9" and weighs approximately 190 pounds. McCoy is considered to be armed and dangerous. He had a last known address in Bossier City and is known to stay a various locations in Shreveport.
