Another tough day for Toyota. The company now says it's recalling 270,000 Prius Hybrid vehicles because of brake problems. The government is investigating reports that anti-lock brakes can fail momentarily on some 2010 Prius models in slippery conditions or on rough roads. Toyota also says it's investigating possible brake problems with its Lexus Hybrid.
Locally, Toyota dealers say they're on standby waiting to take care of customers needs. Officials at Yokem Toyota say they've made repairs on about 50 cars under the recall just today. They say the process only takes about 30 minutes. "We have all the parts here to take care of anybody's car. Our service department opens at seven in the morning, they can come in and drop the car off or they can wait for it", Bob Crosby said. We'll keep you posted on how repairs are going.
