A teenager is caught in the crossfire of a shootout in Shreveport.

It happened at Clover and Dowdell Streets around 5 p.m. Sunday night.

Police found shell casings from at least four different caliber guns.

A 16-year-old, who was visting friends in the neighborhood, was hit in the shoulder by a stray bullet.

He was treated at LSU Hospital for what police are calling non-lifee threatening injuries.

Stray bullets also hit a house and a truck.

But police say with so many bullets flying around..it could have been a lot worse.

"It could have been very bad. If a stray bullet had hit a child or something like that . Because this time of day  there are a lot of people out enjoying the shade, says Detective Robert Gordon.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 673-7373.
