Shreveport police say they've stopped what could have easily been a rash of purse snatchings up and down Youree Drive with the arrest of Jerry Wayne Peters. Kacee Hargrave with Shreveport Police says Peters and two others struck three times in less than two weeks. Detective Bobby Herring with the Ccaddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force says he's worked dozens of purse snatching cases that have turned into identity theft cases. Herring says some purse snatchings have turned violent, fortunately in these latest cases, no one was injured. That's why authorities can't stress enough the importance of always being aware of your surroundings.
