Thursday was Peace Officer's Memorial Day, and among those honored during a ceremony in Marshall was the family of DPS Trooper James Scott Burns.

Fellow officers say these ceremonies are always a somber reminder of the dangers of their job.

In Shreveport, several fallen officers were honored this morning. Dozens of law enforcement officials from across Shreveport and Bossier came to pay their respects to the men and women who've died protecting us.
