Red River Parish to keep ambulance service

Red River Parish will be keeping its ambulance service.

Pafford EMS last month gave notice it would pull out of the parish on Sept. 7 if the private ambulance company didn't receive financial help from local governments.

This morning, the Police Jury, Coushatta City Council and several mayors in the parish met to come up with a solution.

Police Jury President Jessie Davis said Pafford has agreed to stay on within the current operating agreement until the parish can find something permanent.

Pafford is asking for $20,000 a month to help cover expenses.
