DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Senator Barack Obama, has won the Iowa Democratic caucuses.
The Illinois senator has taken the first step toward becoming the Democratic nominee in the race for the White House in his bid to become the nation's first black president. Obama eased past rivals Hillary Clinton and John Edwards.
Among Republicans, Mike Huckabee rode a wave of support from evangelical Christians to victory in the Republican caucuses. Huckabee won despite being far outspent by rival Mitt Romney.
