The owner of a Shreveport day care center was arrested today on charges she lied to the parish grand jury that was investigating her sons for alleged sexual involvement with children.
Kathryn Robbins, who owns Smart Start Learning Center Express, was arrested on a warrant charging her with perjury.
A son, Rodney Chism, was also arrested. He's charged with molesting a child who was in Robbins' care, Caddo Assistant District Attorney Hugo Holland said. That alleged incident did not occur at the day care, Holland said.
Chism had a prior conviction for having sexual relations with a minor, court records show.
The grand jury earlier indicted another of Robbins' sons, Darrell Chism, charging him with raping and molesting two family members. He is awaiting trial.
