It is likely that heat was a factor in the death of a man found in his home in Shreveport on Tuesday night, the coroner said today.

The 74-year-old man was found dead at a house in the 3900 block of Lakeshore Drive.

Caddo Coroner Dr. Todd Thoma said the man had been dead several days. No definitive determination of the cause of death can be made, Thoma said, but the temperature inside the house was in the 90s.

Given the man's age and the recent temperatures, it's likely his death was heat-related, Thoma said.
