The Mansfield Police Department received a 911 call around 3 a.m. on October 4, about a disturbance at 305 Johnson St.
Upon officers arrival, they found the victim Omerro Diohn Montgomery in the front yard with a single stab wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Officers questioned witnesses and identified Rakyia Lane as the suspect. Lane surrendered to Police around 9 a.m. and provided a statement to investigators. Lane was booked in the Desoto Parish Detention Center for First Degree Murder.
Lane, who was Montgomery's estranged girlfriend, appears to have confronted and stabbed Montgomery for his relations with another female.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are possibe for several other females who accompanied Lane to Montgomery's residence
