Fireworks at a Shreveport City Council meeting. The controversy centers around Mayor Glover's proposed appointments to several board and commission seats. It's causing one city leader to speak out. "No one, backs me into a corner and think I'm not going to come out swinging," Shreveport Council Chairwoman Joyce Bowman said. She's sending a strong message to the people who she says are attempting to intimidate her into approving two appointments by Mayor Glover. Bowman wouldn't say which two appointees. Bowman would not say where the source of intimidation originated. But she says the person even threatened to call several ministers in District G in an effort to get her attention. The council received the mayor's list of appointments a few weeks ago. They could vote on the matter tomorrow.
