Get ready for one of the biggest 4th of July festivals you've ever seen. Both sides of the Red River will be packed this weekend for the KTBS 3/KPXJ CW 21 Independence Day Festival brought to you by the cities of Shreveport and Bossier, Kirby Kelly and Eldorado Resort Casino Shreveport.

Thousands of people are expected to converge along the Red River to eat some great food, listen to some awesome music and to relax.

"We're so proud that KTBS and KPXJ were able to step up, make an impact, work and partner with both the city of Shreveport and new for the first time the city of Bossier, the twin cities working together to put on an event, like no other," said George Sirven, Station Manager for KTBS/KPXJ.

The July 4 festivites have been axed for many cities across the U.S. because of the tough economy.

The events here include a spectacular fireworks show set to begin around 9:20pm. Again, the party is on both sides of the Red, at Riverview Park and Festival Plaza in Shreveport and the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City. Our live coverage begins at 7pm on KTBS 3 and KPXJ CW 21.
