A Caddo Parish boy who had been climbing a tree earlier in the day was found hanged from a rope that was attached to the tree.
The 12-year-old's older brother found his body about 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 4700 block of Dixie Garden
Caddo sheriff's deputies said the child, a 7th grader at Caddo Middle Magnet, got tangled in a nylon rope that was used for climbing.
Deputies said the boy and his 15-year-old brother had gone to their father's house after school. When their mother stopped by to pick them up, she couldn't find her younger son. The father arrived shortly after that, deputies said, and the family started looking for him.
The brother found him in the back yard, deputies said.
All indications are it was an accident, Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick said.
The victim's name has not been released.
