Interim Shreveport City Marshal Charlie Caldwell was elected to a full term Saturday night.

Caldwell, who took over as the head of the office when incumbent Jimmy Dove decided to retire before his term was up, defeated retired Shreveport police officer Mike VanSant.

Caldwell got 53 percent of the vote to 47 percent for VanSant, according to complete but unofficial returns.

VanSant was interim Shreveport police chief while Mayor Cedric Glover sought a new police chief after his election.

Local attorney Pammela Lattier was elected to an open judgeship on the Shreveport City Court.

Lattier got 70 percent of the vote to 30 percent for Terrell Myles, a city prosecutor, according to complete but unofficial returns.
