Bossier City police will conduct a seat belt and insurance compliance checkpoint Tuesday afternoon in the west part of the city. The exact location of the checkpoint is not being released in advance.

The operation is part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s "Click It or Ticket" campaign, which seeks to increase compliance with seat belt laws.

Bossier City will have additional officers on patrol the next two weeks issuing tickets to drivers who aren't wearing their seat belts or do not have children in safety restraint systems. Officers are being paid overtime under a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission
