Several officers and jailers with the Shreveport Police Department are being tested for tuberculosis.

They were booking an inmate into the city jail Sunday, when they noticed he was sick.

The 34-year-old inmate from Shreveport tested positive for tuberculosis and is under quarantine at LSU HSC. His name is not being released.

Anyone who came into contact with the man has to be tested for tuberculosis as a precaution.

Earlier in June, a nurse at LSU HSC was diagnosed with tuberculosis, causing hospital officials to track down anyone who may have come in contact with her. There is no indication at this point that the two cases are related.
