KPXJ began broadcasting as the UPN affiliate for the
ArkLaTex in May 2004. The station converted to digital and became one of the
country’s only all-digital stations in September 2005. KPXJ is proud to have
been chosen as the local CW affiliate, which will launch in September 2006.
Broadcasting from our modern digital facility on Kings Highway in
Shreveport, we serve 28 counties and parishes in East Texas, Northwest
Louisiana, western Oklahoma, and southern Arkansas.
Shreveport is located
within five hours of seven major cities and has recently become a center of
activity for film and television production.
With a metropolitan population
of more than 350,000, Shreveport is the economic leader of the region that
stretches north to Texarkana, Arkansas; west to Marshall, Texas; south to
Natchitoches, Louisiana and east to Ruston, Louisiana. Made up of an array of
mid-sized communities, the television marketing population is over half a
million people.
KPXJ is owned and operated by Minden Television Company,
LLC, and is one of the few stations in the country that can still claim local
ownership and community identity. KPXJ is proud to serve our community with
local news, local promotions and local programming.
